EXPLORE 30: A monthlong immersion into daily 10-minute somatic explorations

March 1-30, 2025

Open to all, please join us!

Open to new students wanting to learn more about somatic movement and experienced movers wanting to slow down and explore refinements in their practice.

This workshop is a new offering drawing on inspiration from two resources. I’ve been reflecting on the monthlong Virtual Intensives I took with Continuum Movement founder Emilie Conrad in 2012 and 2013. Emilie’s virtuals, meeting by teleconference once a week for four weeks, were an amazing invitation to create a rich, potent field of connection, support and discovery, with everyone committed to practicing everyday whenever we could, whether we had 20 minutes or three hours. It was the daily commitment of people diving in time zones around the world that enlivened our field 24/7. It’s that field of community and support I want us to create together as we immerse ourselves in the deep nourishment offered in a monthlong workshop.

The other inspiration comes from hearing many of you say how profound the process of Continuum Movement is, and ask “why don’t I do this everyday”? Well, here’s your chance! Many of us are wanting to include more healthy habits in our daily lives. James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, writes about making a new habit so simple, so achievable, you’re practically guaranteeing yourself success. That’s why we’re going for 10 minutes a day. All of us can find 10 minutes in our day to add more of what we’re wanting in our lives.

The workshop will consist of daily brief posts, audio or video clips to review at your leisure, and then practice on your own, whenever it best suits you, for 10 minutes a day. With our own direct experiences as our main teacher, we’ll start with breath, and the nuances of sensing breath throughout our bodies. We’ll grow our sensorial repertoire and explore the different qualities of our observing. Adding sound with our exhales, we’ll dive into vibration, fluid movement, and fluid choreography. By the end of the month, we’ll have a somatic understanding of the material and be able to design cohesive, longer dives for further exploration.

Additional support: You’ll be able to submit questions throughout the month, and engage in weekly live, Zoom classes for both experiential learning and Question and Answer sessions. Q&A sessions will be recorded.
